Non TV Returns:
Non TV defective merchandise will be replaced upon receipt of the defective product. Defective returns must be returned within 14 days from the date you received the product, all non defective returns must also be returned within 14 days and are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Extended warranty purchases can be canceled for a full refund up to 90 days from date of purchase. Extended warranties may not be canceled after 90 days. Please email customerservice@plasmadepot.com for an RMA number.Plasma, LCD, and DLP TV Non-Defective Returns:
Plasma, LCD and DLP TVs and Monitors as well as all mounting accessories are subject to up to a 20% restocking fee plus outbound and return shipping at our standard published rates. Plasma Depot does not accept return of used mounts or stands. Cancelled orders that have been cancelled before the item has shipped will not incur any cancellation or restocking charges. A full credit will be issued. Cancelled orders which are cancelled after the item has already been shipped will incur applicable outbound and return freight charges plus a 5% restocking fee.Plasma, LCD and DLP Defects and Returns:
For plasma, LCD, and DLP TVs we offer a 14 day replacement gaurantee for manufactured defective merchandise from the date the merchandise was received by the customer (with the exception of Sony and Panasonic consumer products - see below). In this instance, we will arrange to have the defective unit picked up from the customers location and will pay for both replacement and return shipping. All returned products must be returned in the original boxes with all original contents included. Returned shipments may otherwise be refused or returned. Plasma Depot reserves the right to request inspection of the merchandise by a qualified professional to verify its condition as defective. Physical/visible damage (such as a cracked screen) does not qualify as manufacturers defective merchandise.In the case of defective products, at the customer's request, we will apply a full refund, excluding the shipping and handling charges on the return freight to Plasma Depot.
Product Uses
We list exactly the manufacturer's product specifications for all of the products that we sell. We gaurantee the product for only those uses that the manafacturer's specifications list. We do not gaurantee that a product will work for any uses that are not specifically listed in the manufacturer's specifications. The customer is responsible for contacting the manufacturer's technical support to find out if the product will work with their specific application (outside the manufacturer's specifications). Any product return resulting from an application issue outside the manufacturer's specifications will be subject to the standard TV return policy.Panasonic and Sony Consumer Products, Plasma, LCD and DLP TV Defective Products Policy:
For Plasma, LCD and DLP consumer products manufactured by Panasonic and Sony, we offer in home service for repair only. An authorized Panasonic or Sony repair center representative will either repair on site, or pick up, the defective plasma, LCD or DLP TV. Returns of any Panasonic and Sony consumer plasma, LCD, or DLP TV products are subject to restocking fees as non-defective merchandise.Shipping Damage Claims
We ask that the customer pay close attention to the receiving instructions, which we send by e-mail prior to your shipment arriving. In the event you do not receive this e-mail ahead of time, we have posted them here for your convenience. Plasma Depot is not responsible for damage to TVs after they are delivered to their destination address. The freight bill of lading will be the guiding document between the two parties. Freight damages to our shipments are extremely rare, due to our observance of proper packaging and shipping methods to get the merchandise to you safely.
Any freight damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the product to be eligible for consideration as a freight claim. Freight damages or exceptions (such as a blue tip and tell indicator) must be notated on the bill of lading before signing for the shipment. The freight bill of lading will be the guiding document between the two parties.
Shipping Methods
Due to their size, value and weight, all Plasma TVs are shipped via common freight carriers. We have developed strong relationships with some of the most reputable freight companies in the U. S. to provide customers with the best service available for Plasma TV shipping and delivery. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email containing your tracking number and contact information for you to contact the freight carrier to discuss delivery.
Our standard TV shipping is fully insured and includes single-man, curbside delivery during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm). However, if you would like to discuss any "upgrade" options (i.e. specific delivery time, debris removal, etc.), please call for a shipping quote.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs may vary form product to product, based on weight and dimensions. Please refer to each individual product page for current shipping costs, or email customerservice@plasmadepot.com.
Order Tracking
Once your order has been processed and dispatched you will receive a e-mail confirmation with your order and tracking number. There will also be a link to the freight companies website for online tracking - we will also provide you with the freight companies name and order tracking toll free number.
Pixel Defect Policy
We follow plasma and LCD display manufacturers guidelines when addressing pixel outage on plasma or LCD TVs purchased from our company. Though these guidelines are not published they generally are stated as follows:
1 pixel out red, green, or black - is within manufacturers specifications and the plasma display is not considered a defective product. Manufacturers do not replace a plasma display with one pixel out.
2 pixels out red, green, or black normally is within manufacturers specifications as well. Manufacturer may want to send a service tech out to inspect and may in special circumstances declare the product as defective.
3 or more defective red or green pixels - our company policy is to follow manufacturers guidelines and policies. Manufacturers will typically want to inspect the unit in this situation. The unit may or may not be within manufacturers specifications depending on the location of the out pixels. 4 or more out pixels will generally be replaced but again, it depends upon manufacturers specifications.
Please keep in mind that a defective pixel does not mean the plasma display is defective. It does not mean that more pixels will become defective. This is, in fact, highly unlikely. Also, remember that any defective pixels which are red, green or blue will after a couple months use turn black and you will not be able to see the dead pixel from normal viewing distances.
Back orders and credit card charge
If a customer specifically requests their order be processed and charged when a product is on backorder, and then cancels the order for a credit, they will be charged a $25 processing fee.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of an order before the item has processed and shipped will receive a full refund. Extended warranty purchases can be canceled for a full refund up to 90 days from date of purchase. Extended warranties may not be canceled after 90 days.
You may cancel your order after it has been shipped, and before receipt of the merchandise. All applicable shipping charge to the destination and back to DTV City are non-refundable. Freight charges are billed at our standard published rates. An additional charge of 5% may be charged as a restocking fee to cover credit card fees and processing and inspection.
Plasma TVs at high elevationsPlease note: Plasma Monitors at elevations of around 6250 feet and higher will experience a buzzing noise caused by altitude pressures on the plasma gas.
